01 About

The concept for an exhibition about mushrooms. "Shrooom" takes you into a magical world, and lets you experience biology and many other aspects of the fungus in a whole new way. The various rooms are connected by a common theme: The walls resemble the gills of a mushroom, and on the floor a complex network, the mycelium, links the exhibits. Each room has it's own theme, accompanied by a fitting color scheme.

Since there are little to no precedents for an exhibition like this, all models were created from scratch, based on nature references and imagination. A significant challenge with this project turned out to be optimization, since I didn't pay enough attention to the scene's poly-count - especially the mushroom-fins resembling walls turned out to be problematic, and led to much longer than necessary render times.
